We love Amandarama

Sorry about not blogging. I got better at it, but then spent the last couple of days with doctors and at hospitals. I'm fine, but I was taking care of a friend.

Anywho, Amandarama is traveling our great land still. She will be joining us again via telephone or possibly cohosting - who knows. But I thought today might be a good day for a tribute to our favorite blogtv personality. So today I've decided to post Mandy by Barry Manilow for the Song of the day.

Sound & Jury will be AIRing at 1pm.

Today's show is dedicated to the Brooklyn air Guitar regional competition which leads to the August 8, 2008 (8-8-8) National Air Guitar Finals in San Francisco. Normally we would ask you guys to come on the show and sing along with us, but today we want you to come and shred some air live on the broadcast.

However, it has come to our attention that some of you may not know how to Air Guitar, so I found this "instructional" video put out by Dell some time ago to promote the Dell Ditty, which is their failed iPod competitor.

Now everybody set your web cams to awesome and come join us on the show today at 1pm.

To Air is Human

Tomorrow's broadcast of Sound & Jury on Blog TV (blogtv.com/people/soundandjury) will focus on Air Guitar - specifically the Brooklyn Regional Air Guitar Championships which took place on July 9th. In promoting that prestigious event, yours truly was asked to promote the event on the morning news.

So, now that you know how it's done, I hope you'll all take a turn on Tuesday and Air Guitar for us live on the show at 1PM Eastern.

Kiss Me Deadly

The staff at Top Tunes Karaoke Bar (karaoketoptunes.com) on 53rd Street was awesome. The bartenders sang, the host was gracious, and the owner was incredibly friendly.

A Bob named Sue

So, back when we started this show, we started at a place called Dillon's, where Lying Whore Karaoke host Alberto decided that he was holier than thou and we couldn't film because it would infringe on his small manhood. But before we were thrown out of the bar - a bar that, by the way, wouldn't even have karaoke if it wasn't for me (long story) - we did manage to get some hysterical footage of Amandarama's boyfriend, Bobisahippie singing some Johnny Cash.

I'm so wasted.

Suck on that intellectual property, Alberto!

can you hear me now?

?????

I Can't Escape Tom Petty

So last night, Amanda and I were having dinner at her house before we went out looking for karaoke and she had the Sound Choice channel on in the background. And like five (okay two) Tom Petty songs came on in half an hour. And then this morning when I went to move the car (I HATE alternate side of the road parking) it was 2-for-Tuesday on Q104.3 and guess what? Two Tom Petty songs in a row. So, if you can't beat them - and by beat I mean escape - than join 'em. And by join I mean make you guys sing Tom Petty.

So todays song of the day is American Girl by Tom Petty.

Amandarama is not racist...

even if she does wear shirts that say Jive Turkey.

But although this song suggests otherwise, she was only singing it, cuz y'all wanted it.

Welcome to the Jungle in the style of Guns-n-Roses.

Here's the file. Download it and then we'll co-host you in so you can sing on our show.Right click and download, don't play it off the site, it could create lag issues.

Bad Bloggers

Okay, so we haven't been keeping up with the blog. That's our bad. We have been busy though and now we have a set schedule. Sound and Jury will broadcast on BlogTV.com every Tuesday and Friday at 1pm EST. Or EDT, I guess really since we're in daylight savings. How about just 1pm Eastern/New York time.

I'll also spend what time I can throwing up bonus video and contact info and getting the google ads turned on. But mostly bonus info, and vids and recaps of the show.

Tune in at 1pm. Keep rocking.

Freshman Fifteen

This is the first fifteen minutes of last night's broadcast. Unfortunately the rest of the show was lost when the servers gave us issues, so you missed Steve rocking the Meat Loaf, but we'll get tat clip up here soon.

15 mins - Broadcast your self LIVE

Multi Cam

So last night we debuted a new look to the show, which we're still developing. It was a short show, there were server problems over at blogTV. It looks good, and we'll start putting the video up here. We'll also be adding some bonus footage of stuff we didn't get to show you during the broadcast. Amanda and I are going to take the weekend to bang out some more kinks and get some new footage.

We'll let you know what bars we're thinking of hitting when we go out Sunday night. Stay tuned.

Lagging Our Feet

So, yesterday's issues really lie in the unfortunate side effect of one computer processing faster than another computer, causing lag in the transmission and drag in the show.

We'll probably give this thing another whirl tonight, after we take care of some theatre business. We've got a good handle on the tech now (although not perfect) and we're hoping to really have the whole package banged out proper by the end of next week. Right now, no one is reading this blog, but when y'all final do come around, this will be a nice recorded history of our humble beginnings.

Keep rocking.

Testing Clips

Hi all. So we had some tech difficulties on our fortst broadcast, so we're just playing around with how we want to archive footage on the blog. This is only a test.

Sound and Jury

Sound and Jury is an internet Broadcast shown on BlogTV hosted by Amanda Ladd and Steven Ryan - 2 NYC performers. We'll be going out to karaoke bars, cabarets/piano bars, other musical shows and let you the viewers interact live with us and decide who's awesome and who sucks nuts.

Today will be our first broadcast - you can watch live at 1pm. You can check it out by going to  blogtv.com/people/amandarama and we'll also be archiving the show on this blog.

Last night we visited Dillon's on 54th Street in the theatre district. It was fun, and then not fun. Watch the show and you'll know.

And don't ever sing karaoke anywhere Lying Whore's Karaoke (aka Lion's Roar Karaoke) is pumping out the jams.
